José Contreras is a FanDuel TV host and analyst.

José’s first appearance on TVG, now FanDuel TV, dates back to 2013 as a guest analyst during a Keeneland broadcast. He served as a national analyst and brand ambassador covering some of horse racing’s biggest races like the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont Stakes and The Breeders’ Cup for America’s Best Racing. He would later become a fixture on the TVG airwaves as the lead analyst at Los Alamitos Race Course beginning in 2016 until joining FanDuel TV.

José, born and raised in California, grew up attending race tracks like Santa Anita Park, Del Mar, Los Alamitos, Hollywood Park and Fairplex Park. One of his major handicapping achievements as a horseplayer was hitting a pick-6 at Los Alamitos that still stands as one of the largest payouts in the history of that wager.

He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach and studied at the University of Arizona. When not at the races, you can find him attending live sporting events and traveling with his wife and their three children.
