Delaware Becomes 14th State to Pass Fantasy Sports Legislation (PRESS RELEASE)

Today, FanDuel announced it would be offering its full slate of fantasy offerings in Delaware, including the chance to win one million dollars in the NFL FanDuel Sunday Million, effective on Friday. This announcement follows news that Delaware Governor John Carney signed a fantasy sports bill into law, establishing a number of consumer protections and regulating daily fantasy sports in the state. Delaware is now the 14th state to enact legislation protecting fantasy sports, and the fifth state to pass fantasy sports legislation in the first half of 2017 alone.

Delaware fans collectively sent thousands of letters to state representatives showing their support for fantasy sports and protecting their right to play.

“We have thousands of fantasy players in Delaware who love our product and now know that their right to play daily fantasy sports is protected thanks to important legislation sponsored by state Representative Charles Potter,” said Nigel Eccles, CEO of FanDuel. “With NFL season right around the corner, Delaware sports fans will see big changes to our product since last year — including new season-long leagues, improved lineup editing tools, new contest types, and more.
