FanDuel Group Named Official Sports Betting and Fantasy Partner for Payne’s Valley Cup Charity Golf Match
September 21, 2020 — FanDuel Group today announced a strategic partnership designating FanDuel as the exclusive Sports Betting and Fantasy Partner of the Payne’s Valley Cup, a team charity golf match featuring Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas (Team USA) vs. Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose (Team Europe). The event will see some of the world’s best golfers tee it up in a team competition to commemorate the grand opening of Payne’s Valley Golf Course at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo, with all funds being raised to support The Payne Stewart Family Foundation.
The Payne’s Valley Cup will take place Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, and will serve as the official debut of Payne’s Valley. The first public-access course in the U.S. by Tiger Woods’ TGR Design was created in partnership with noted conservationist and founder of Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge, Johnny Morris. The Europe-U.S. competition will be punctuated by in-the-moment commentary from the players as they all try to be the golfer to set the course record on Tiger’s new masterpiece. The continental matchup will be televised live on The GOLF Channel from 3 – 7 p.m. ET. In addition to live coverage on GOLF Channel, the Payne’s Valley Cup will stream live via GOLF Channel and NBC Sports mobile apps, along with GolfChannel.com and on GolfPass.
FanDuel Sportsbook will be the odds provider of the made for TV event. Live odds will be updated throughout the exhibition match, including hole-by-hole result predictions based on player and team performances. FanDuel customers and golf fans can place legal wagers on match results, individual hole outcomes, players to hit the fairway and greens in regulation among many other unique betting markets. The team of Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas is currently favored (-138) over Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose (+118).
FanDuel will also offer a $25K free to play fantasy contest for the Payne’s Valley Cup where fans will build a lineup around the overall match winner, 9-hole leader, closest to the pin on holes and longest drives.
