FanDuel’s Historic Daily Fantasy Basketball Contest Tips Off At NBA All-Star Game

FanDuel Calls Bingo on NBA All-Star Saturday Night
FanDuel’s Historic Daily Fantasy Basketball Contest Tips Off At NBA All-Star Game

Today, FanDuel announced that for the first time ever, a daily fantasy basketball contest will be available for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles. In a new twist, All-Star Game captains – LeBron James and Stephen Curry – picked their teammates for the All-Star Game and FanDuel will follow suit offering sports fans the opportunity to choose their own lineup of NBA All-Stars for the ultimate NBA fantasy basketball event.

The 67th NBA All-Star Game, featuring Team LeBron vs. Team Stephen, replaces the traditional matchup between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. James and Curry chose their team rosters from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves and now FanDuel users can be just like James and Curry and select their own NBA All-Star team on FanDuel. Single game contests will be available in the FanDuel lobby on Friday, February 16.

Coming off the heels of FanDuel’s successful launch of Bingo during the Super Bowl, the company will debut NBA All-Star Bingo, a free game that adds an extra element of fun to the NBA All-Star viewing experience. The Bingo game is free to enter and fans can sign up at www.FanDuel.com/NBA or by downloading the FanDuel app to get their digital Bingo card. NBA All-Star Bingo will transform NBA All-Star Saturday Night from a ground-breaking exhibition of skill into an immersive fan experience where fans have a rooting interest in what happens in the dunk contest, the three point contest, and the skills challenge.

Once users have a Bingo card, they can watch NBA All-Star Saturday Night at 8 PM ET on TNT and follow along for a chance to get five squares in a row and earn a prize. The first users to submit a winning Bingo board will take home a share of more than $25,000 in cash and prizes. The Bingo squares will feature fun and notable events from the NBA All-Star Saturday Night contests like will a player sink three moneyballs in a row, will a Big Man repeat in Skills Challenge, or will a mascot be used in a dunk? FanDuel will have a team of experts watching the TNT broadcast and providing a running commentary on the events, while keeping track of all the dunks, long distance shots, celebrity appearances, and how many commercials feature NBA All-Stars.

“NBA All-Star has always been an amazing experience for both casual and die-hard basketball fans, but it never had a fantasy component until this year,” said Nik Bonaddio, Head of Product, FanDuel. “For the first time in fantasy sports history, FanDuel will offer a fun, free to enter Bingo contest and single-game contests that will give all NBA fans a chance to interact with the players on the court and keep them engaged during all of the festivities surrounding NBA All-Star Weekend.”
