FanDuel Sportsbook Debuts at Diamond Jo Casino in Iowa
NORTHWOOD, IA – August 29, 2019 – Boyd Gaming and FanDuel Group today announced the grand opening of their first retail sportsbook in the state of Iowa, located at Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood.
The FanDuel Sportsbook, the first in the Midwest, opened to the public at noon today, as Football Hall of Famer and Minnesota sports legend John Randle placed the ceremonial first bet as part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first official bet at the FanDuel Sportsbook was a Moneyline wager on the Twins for $93 (John’s former number).
FanDuel’s new sports betting retail location is conveniently located between the Cashier’s Cage and Big Wheel Bar. The FanDuel Sportsbook features three betting windows, six video displays including a large video wall, 11 self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks and one sports ticker. FanDuel provides its proprietary risk and trading technology that leverages the IGT PlaySports platform. The FanDuel Sportsbook offers bets on all major U.S. sports, including baseball, soccer, football, basketball, golf, boxing, motorsports racing, and more.
The FanDuel Sportsbook at Diamond Jo Casino is the latest step in a rapidly expanding national partnership between FanDuel Group and Boyd Gaming, two of the nation’s leading players in gaming entertainment.
