FanDuel Sportsbook Opens at Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, Iowa
Dubuque, IA – September 4, 2019 – Today, Boyd Gaming and FanDuel Group announced the grand opening of their second retail sportsbook in the state of Iowa, located at Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque.
The FanDuel Sportsbook opened to the public today at noon, one day ahead of the kick-off of the 2019-20 professional football season. Legendary Green Bay wide receiver Antonio Freeman placed the ceremonial first bet as part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first official bet at the FanDuel Sportsbook was a Moneyline wager on the Green Bay Packers total points over (21.5) in tomorrow night’s game for $86 (Antonio’s former number).
The FanDuel Sportsbook at Diamond Jo Casino is the latest step in a rapidly expanding national partnership between FanDuel Group and Boyd Gaming, two of the nation’s leading players in gaming entertainment. Over the next several days, FanDuel plans to open sportsbooks at two additional Boyd Gaming properties in the Midwest: Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa in Michigan City, Indiana; and Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Indiana.
FanDuel also operates sportsbooks at Boyd Gaming’s Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, Iowa, Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and recently launched mobile sports betting in Pennsylvania in partnership with Boyd Gaming.
FanDuel’s new sports-betting retail location is conveniently located near the south entrance of Diamond Jo Casino’s floor. The FanDuel Sportsbook features four betting windows, 14 video displays including a large video wall, nine self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks and three sports tickers. FanDuel provides its proprietary risk and trading technology that leverages the IGT PlaySports platform. The FanDuel Sportsbook features bets on all major U.S. sports, including professional baseball, soccer, football, basketball, golf, boxing, motorsports racing, and more.
