FanDuel Sportsbook Surprises Customer With $1 Million As Part of March Million Sweepstakes

For one lucky FanDuel customer, March Madness has taken on a whole new meaning. As part of its March Million Sweepstakes that was created earlier this month, FanDuel Group announced a surprise giveaway of $1 million to Jha-Liel Harden of Roanoke, VA. While FanDuel’s recent television commercials promised to make someone a millionaire at the end of the tournament, FanDuel decided to award a second million dollars after the first weekend in recognition of the madness that was lost last year due to the pandemic.
“We really missed the tournament last year and so did our customers,” said Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel Group. “We felt that we needed to make up for last year and make two players millionaires just by placing a bet with us.”
The surprise winner of the first million in the FanDuel Sportsbook March Million Sweepstakes is Jha-Liel Harden from Roanoke, VA. While the satellite technician’s $7 parlay failed to hit when Ohio State lost to the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts, it was that bet that punched his ticket to win $1 million. Harden will appear in a new television commercial that will begin airing this week and will continue throughout the tournament.
The March Million Sweepstakes will continue for the remainder of the tournament. A second lucky FanDuel Sportsbook customer will win a million-dollars simply by placing a bet on one of the tournament’s college basketball games. Any new or current FanDuel customer, who places a bet on the tournament, will automatically be entered into the $1,000,000 March Million sweepstakes. Each subsequent bet made on the tournament gets you an additional entry (max one per day)!
FanDuel launched legal sports betting in the Commonwealth of Virginia in January.
