Frequently Asked Questions for New York Users
Q: FanDuel restricts play from certain states, but what does that mean?
A: FanDuel’s restrictions mean that while you are physically located in a restricted state, you cannot deposit funds into a FanDuel account or enter a paid contest, which is any contest that requires an entry fee and pays out prizes.
Q: What if I am a resident of a restricted state, like Nevada, but I don’t live there?
A: FanDuel checks your location at the time of deposit and at the time of game entry. To do either of those things, you must be physically located in a state from which FanDuel permits play in paid contests, regardless of your state of residence. We may confirm your state of permanent residency as part of our identity verification process.
Q: Can I play FanDuel when I’m travelling into a permitted state?
A: Yes. You can play when you are physically located in a state from which FanDuel allows play. But if you are a resident of a restricted state and we have questions about your location and cannot determine to our satisfaction that you are in a permitted state, we may block your play.
Q: What if I try to use a proxy server or a VPN to change or obscure my location
A: Any attempt to knowingly circumvent our geo-block is a violation of our TOS and can result in account termination. Also, our systems are designed to identify and reject such efforts. If you do find a way to circumvent our blocking software and we later determine that you played from a restricted state, we may refuse to pay any winnings and may terminate your account. Don’t do it.
