New Product Features: Experienced Player Indicators & Beginner Contests
Today, we announced that we will be introducing two new features over the next 48 hours: Beginner Contests, which are optimized contests for new users, and Experienced Player Indicators, which are badges that will identify more seasoned users. The Experienced Player Indicators will go live on FanDuel today and Beginner Contests will roll out on Thursday, June 30. These new features come ahead of the 2016-2017 NFL season and will be available to all users on desktop and mobile.

FanDuel is implementing new product features as part of its continued effort to improve the overall user experience and ensure a level playing field for users to hone their skills. With today’s release, all users will now be able to see the experience level of opponents before entering a contest and new users will have the opportunity to play against other beginners before entering contests with more skilled players.
Information on Experienced Player Indicators
Experienced Player Indicators will appear as a badge next to the names of users who are considered “experienced” or “highly experienced” on FanDuel. A user is defined as “experienced” if they have entered more than 500 contests and/or have won over $2,500 across six or more contests. A user is defined as “highly experienced” if they have entered more than 1,000 contests and/or have won over $1,000 in four or more contests.
Information on Beginner Contests
As part of today’s announcement, Beginner Contests have been built into the onboarding process for new users, giving new users a chance to improve their skills against other new users. Beginner Contests are only available to players – both new and previously registered – who have entered less than 51 contests from when they enter their first contest and are not marked with an Experienced Player Indicator. Upon opening the FanDuel mobile app, new users will receive a pop-up that brings them to available Beginner Contests. When logging onto the desktop site, new users will see a separate “Beginner” tab in the lobby.
