Use of Third-Party Scripts Banned on FanDuel

As you may know, FanDuel’s previous policies only permitted the use of approved third-party scripts with limited functionality. We barred scripts that could provide a user with any arguable competitive advantage, such as the ability to edit a high number of lineups simultaneously.

As part of our continued commitment to providing a fair and transparent ecosystem, we are now banning the use of ALL third-party scripting. We have always sought to ensure our games have been on a level playing field, but this step should eliminate any false perceptions and ensure all users continue to feel confident no player has a technological advantage on the site.

As of March 1st, any user identified running a third-party script will be subject to discipline for violation of our Terms and Conditions, including account suspension and/or permanent account closure.

In connection with this updated policy, we are developing and offering all users new tools designed to perform the most requested types of functionality. For example, earlier this month we introduced a new feature that allows any user to upload lineups in bulk via CSV, and we encourage users to try this new tool for contest entry needs.

As fantasy sports continues to grow and evolve, we will continue to constantly examine our policies to ensure our games remain fair and, perhaps just as important, that everyone playing knows our games are fair.
